Hello! Welcome to this training course about emotional intelligence for youth workers. This course is a product of an Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity-Building project that engages 9 different countries from all over the world, co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.

What to expect?

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

DISCLAIMER. This course is created by youth workers, sharing their knowledge and experiences. It is not made by professional psychologists, but gives practical advise on how to use emotional intelligence in working with youth. Nevertheless all content is based on reliable sources, psychological ones and not only.

Structure of the course:

This MOOC is divided in five different modules that correspond to the different areas and techniques of the Emotional Intelligence theory:

  • Understand the history of EI
  • Gain greater awareness of emotions and the impact of emotion on self and others
  • Gain better understanding of the various tests of EI
  • Have a better understanding of personal emotional intelligence including strengths and possible development
  • Learn about different self management skills
  • Gain understanding about why controlling and regulating our reactions is important.
  • Tips to improve your self management skills.
  • Games to teach self management.
  • Learners will be able to recognize and understand the theoretical concept of relationship management.
  • Learners will get 10 tips to improve and assess their relationship.
  • Youth workers will get 5 methods to facilitate relationship management for youths.
  • Be able to implement the learnings directly in their real life.
  • Explanations about what non violent communication is and why it’s important.
  • Learn about the components of how to practice non- violence communication.
  • Get to know how to use non violent communication in daily life.
  • Identify how emotions difer in different cultures
  • Explore the concept of “cultural iceberg”
  • Acknowledge how several key dimensions related to personal beliefs and social behaviours are different between cultures

At the end of each module, you will be invited to take a short quiz to check your knowledge and understanding of its content and a self-reflection exercise to help you throughout your learning experience.
